Get Well Soon in the Karlsruhe Jubez
I've been looking forward to this particular gig for quite a few weeks now (after I basically missed the one with iLiKeTrAiNs in Frankfurt).
Get Well Soon in concert!
After having read a few reviews my feelings in terms of what to expect have been a bit... mixed. At least it was supposed to be an entertaining show - and it was!
The playlist itself was rather unspectacular - what would one expect of a artist that only really has released one album and a very few select single track so far. Not more or less than I was foreseeing really, so it was built around a decent base.
The venue itself was rather great though, fairly small, with air conditioning!
Musically it was fairly easy to determine that initially Konstantin didn't exactly plan to ever go live with his portfolio. The band had it's moments, seemed like "authentic" musicians, but it was far from perfect. At times it felt like just a decent highschool band with some really neat songs.
Yet the whole programme felt great, it was very entertaining - I enjoyed it lots, the band enjoyed their evening probably even more and considering the base price for the ticket (which was in fact only €11!) there is hardly anything one could complain about, even though "If This Hat Is Missing I Have Gone Hunting" did sound utterly weird without the children.
I loved it - I am looking forward to the next Get Well Soon concert, two thumbs up!
(Opening the gig was a small one-man-army, going to war with his voice and a guitar. Presenting his band "Plus" ( www.myspace.com/andplus ) it was a fairly nice opener, yet he did seem a tad lost)
