Mac: Volume problems in DVD Player?
If you have ever had the problem with Mac OS X’s DVD Player Apple is providing that, whenever you play a DVD the Volume of the sound seems to be changing all the time, getting louder and die away again just after a few seconds, try disabling the dynamic range compression setting, which Apple decided to not activate by default (for whatever reason, in your preferences.

You must not be playing a DVD at that time, the setting will be greyed out then (“Pause” counts as still playing!)
